Purpose and Scope:
The Tower Laborer supports the installation, replacement, and repair of telecommunications equipment on towers, and performs maintenance under close supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
  • Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action.
  • Communicating orally and in writing.
  • Following instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.
  • Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
  • Work under close supervision.
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively.
  • Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands.

Skills:
  • Schedule flexibility for weekends, nights, or extended travel.  Extensive travel should be anticipated-away from home or out-of-market, as needed.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work under close supervision.

Work Environment:
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather condition
Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.
  • Prior laboring experience is preferred, but not required.
Education and Training:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Clean and current Driver's license (MVR check) in applying State.
  • Basic use and care of tools and equipment.
  • Must have or be willing to acquire OSHA 10 certification, RF safety awareness & competent climber cert.
 
Compensation: $18.00 - $23.00/hr
