Purpose and Scope:
The Wireless Drafting Supervisor is responsible for satisfactory completion of the tasks, duties, and job requirements of subordinates. They apply wireless cell site design knowledge while overseeing the tracking and completion of wireless cell site projects, providing status updates as required, reviewing projects with designers for comprehensiveness and accuracy, delegating projects to drafters and designers, maintaining procedures and standards, and providing support and feedback for staffing related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises Substructure Designer in addition to the wireless drafting group.
- Provides staffing updates as required to Department Manager including but not limited to employee concerns, solutions, and feedback.
- Updates tracking spreadsheets and monitors the progress and completion of projects daily.
- Conducts and participates in status meetings with the Production Department, Management, Project Managers and clients as required.
- Coordinates with the Production Manager and project managers to forecast completion dates, time needed, expectations, and requirements of projects assigned.
- Creates and maintains procedures based upon client drafting standards and/or requirements.
- Reviews field and project information for accuracy prior to start of wireless cell site drafting and design.
- Assists and supports Wireless Designers and Drafters in proposing drafting wireless cell site designs and retrieving information as required.
- Remains open to answering questions regarding proposed wireless cell site drafting of a project, particularly post-drafting stage.
- Plan checks completed wireless cell site plans and designs from the Production department as part of quality control.
- Supervises the creation of planning commission and conceptual drawings for zoning approval.
- Drafts construction plans, zoning plans and details, i.e. plan and profiles, elevations, etc. in AutoCAD as required.
- Maintains and updates overall procedures, standard blocks and reference material.
- Provides technical support to drafting staff as needed.
- Trains drafters and designers in wireless drafting and design as required.
- All other duties as required.
Skills / Other:
- Excellent communications skills and legible handwriting.
- Deadline-driven.
- Hold high standards for quality control.
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Education/ Training:
- 5 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related area (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of telecommunication and wireless cell site construction practices.
- Knowledge of GO 95 and GO 128, and Substructure Engineering principles.
- Able to read and understand existing substructure records, i.e. plan and profile drawings, atlas maps, elevations, etc.
- Knowledge of wireless cell site equipment specs.
- Able to use AutoCAD 2005 or higher.
- 3GIS experience (plus)
Compensation: $95-105K
